Our Services
Individual care. Specialist expertise
Every person who comes to Easteden has different expectations around how they want to live. Across our five homes, we provide residential, nursing and specialist care for adults with a wide range of needs. For some, that means a little extra help with everyday life. For others, it means highly specialised support for complex physical, neurological, dementia or mental health needs.
As a specialised care provider, we believe warmth and compassion should be matched by expertise and organisation. Our experienced teams bring together nursing care, specialist knowledge, carefully considered environments and, where required, input from a wider range of healthcare professionals.
The result is care built around the individual — not limited by a diagnosis.
Mental Health Services
Stability
Specialist support for people with complex and high-dependency mental health needs.
Mental health can affect every aspect of a person's life — from confidence and relationships to communication, behaviour and how safe they feel within their surroundings.
Easteden provides specialist mental health care for individuals whose needs may require considerably more support than a conventional residential or nursing environment can provide.
Our approach combines skilled nursing care with structure, consistency, therapeutic engagement and carefully considered environments. Where required, enhanced supervision and individually assessed levels of support can form part of a person's care.
Rather than simply responding when someone becomes distressed, our teams seek to understand what may be contributing to that distress, recognise changes and triggers and provide the relationships and consistency that can help restore greater stability.
Our specialist mental health provision includes Mullaghcarn View, an 11-bed purpose-built environment created for people with complex and high-dependency mental health needs, and Slieve Na Mon, which provides specialist nursing care for people living with dementia alongside complex mental health conditions.
Our goal is greater stability, safety and quality of life within a supportive community environment
Physical Disability Services
Independence
Specialist care designed around ability, independence and everyday life.
Living with a significant physical disability can mean requiring considerable support. It shouldn't mean losing choice, independence or control over everyday life.
Easteden provides specialist nursing care for people with complex physical disabilities, sensory impairments, long-term neurological conditions and high levels of physical dependency.
At Mullaghcarn Care Centre, the environment has been purpose-built around these needs, including provision for people who are fully wheelchair-dependent, require hoisting and advanced moving and handling support, or live with significant visual or hearing impairments.
Care can bring together specialist nursing, rehabilitation principles, assistive technology and environmental adaptations, alongside input from professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and sensory support services.
Our specialist environments can accommodate equipment and adaptations that help people live safely and with greater independence, while individual care plans evolve as someone's circumstances change.
We ask what the right support could enable them to do.
Residential Care
Belonging
The reassurance of support, with the freedom to keep living life your way.
Sometimes moving into care isn't about needing intensive nursing support. It's about having the reassurance that someone is there when you need them.
Granard Residential Care Home supports people who may be experiencing age-related frailty, mild to moderate dementia or need assistance with aspects of everyday life.
At Granard Residential Home, residents are supported within a warm, familiar environment where independence, personal choice and individuality remain an important part of daily life.
We take time to get to know each person — their routines, interests, preferences and the things that matter to them.
Care plans are shaped around maintaining abilities and confidence, while meaningful activities, relationships and social opportunities help residents remain connected and engaged.
A place to feel safe and supported, while still feeling like yourself.
Dementia Nursing Care
Understanding
Knowing the person behind the dementia.
No two people experience dementia in exactly the same way.
As dementia progresses, changes in cognition, communication, mobility, judgement or behaviour can sometimes mean a person requires more specialist nursing care and a carefully considered environment.
Easteden provides specialist dementia nursing designed around both the person and the complexity of their needs.
Our teams take time to understand someone's history, personality, routines, relationships and preferences — the things that can bring familiarity and reassurance when other parts of life may be changing.
For people with more complex dementia, support can include continuous nursing oversight, structured routines, therapeutic engagement, enhanced observation and one-to-one support where this is assessed as necessary.
Owen Mor Care Centre has particular experience in supporting advanced dementia and the behavioural and psychological symptoms that can accompany it.
At Slieve Na Mon Care Centre, specialist dementia nursing is provided within an environment designed around cognition, orientation, safety and emotional wellbeing. Its commitment to dementia-friendly design has been recognised with the University of Stirling Gold Standard for dementia care.
Our approach is proactive. We seek to understand changes and potential triggers, reduce distress and provide the consistency, relationships and specialist support that can help someone feel more secure.
Because dementia is something a person lives with. It is never all that they are.
Acquired Brain Injury Nursing Care
Specialist nursing and support for life after acquired brain injury.
An acquired brain injury can change someone's life suddenly and profoundly.
Its effects can be physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural, and the combination of needs can make conventional nursing environments unsuitable for some people.
Easteden provides specialist nursing care for individuals living with acquired brain injury, including people with complex neurological conditions, significant physical dependency, cognitive impairment and neurobehavioural needs.
At Mullaghcarn Care Centre, dedicated specialist provision enables people with ABI to receive support from teams trained in acquired brain injury care, positive behaviour support, safe moving and handling and rehabilitative approaches.
Depending on the individual, care can include enhanced supervision or continuous one-to-one support, alongside a structured care plan built around their particular physical, cognitive and behavioural needs.
Our aim is not simply to manage the effects of an injury. We consider the person's abilities, communication, mobility, relationships and goals and look at how specialist nursing, rehabilitation and individual support can work together.
For some residents, the priority may be stability and long-term quality of life. For others, carefully coordinated rehabilitation can support greater independence and new possibilities.
The injury may have changed someone's life. Our role is to help them discover what life can look like now.
Specialist care built around a whole person
The five areas of care we provide are different, but our approach to delivering them is consistent.
When someone's needs become more complex, good care requires more than compassion alone.
Easteden's enhanced and specialist care can bring together higher staffing levels, including one-to-one support where required, continuous clinical oversight and risk management, structured therapeutic interventions, multidisciplinary professional input and environments adapted around the needs of the individual.
Our approach is proactive rather than reactive.
We look at the whole picture: a person's physical and clinical needs, cognition, communication, behaviour, environment, relationships, independence and quality of life.
Then we consider how the right people, expertise, environment and support can work together around them.
Because however complex someone's care becomes, the person should always remain at the centre of it.
Not sure what type of care you need
You don't need to know the name of the service or level of care your relative requires before contacting Easteden.
Tell us about the person.
We'll listen to their circumstances, discuss their needs and help you understand which of our homes and services may be most appropriate.
For families, that means having someone to guide you through what can otherwise feel like an overwhelming decision.
For healthcare professionals and commissioning teams, it means having an experienced provider able to consider complex and enhanced-care referrals across a broad range of needs.
